Deterministic SDV: Who is Responsible for the Deterministic System?

eSOL_Matsumoto Soichiro Matsumoto,
Product Manager/Technology Director

As software-defined vehicles (SDVs) become more prevalent, achieving determinism is crucial for predictable performance, safety, and reliability. In this series on Deterministic SDV, we’ll explore foundational design elements and tackle challenges like time synchronization, partitioning, inter-process communication, and concurrency control to ensure real-time behavior across the entire stack.

Ensuring determinism requires a system-wide approach: no single layer can deliver determinism alone. This session provides an overview of deterministic SDV, laying the groundwork for the following two sessions. We’ll examine how to holistically integrate each component to meet the stringent demands of modern automotive applications. Participants will gain practical insights on aligning hardware and software decisions, validating deterministic performance, and systematically building robust SDVs ready for real-world complexity.
